bLMs Privacy Policy
Effective date: Tuesday, August 01, 2026
Tutajua (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the bLMs mobile application (“the app”, “bLMs”). This policy explains what information we collect through the app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
bLMs is developed and published by Tutajua, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@blms.app.
Information we collect
Account information. To use bLMs you sign in with either an email address and password, or your Google account. If you use Google Sign-In, we receive the name, email address, and profile photo associated with your Google account. If you register with email and password, we collect the email address and password you provide (your password is never stored in plain text).
App usage data. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, which screens are opened, which features are used, and basic device/app information (device model, OS version, app version, country/language, and an analytics identifier). This helps us fix problems and improve the app. This data is not used to build advertising profiles, and bLMs does not display ads.
Files you choose to share. Some features let you select a file from your device (for example, to submit or upload material as part of a course). We only access files you explicitly choose through your device’s file picker — we do not scan or access other files on your device.
Locally stored data. To keep you signed in, your authentication session is stored securely on your device using encrypted local storage. This data stays on your device and is not visible to us; it’s used only to avoid asking you to log in every time you open the app.
Course content and embedded web pages. Some course materials are displayed as PDFs within the app, or as embedded web pages (for example, linked resources or third-party learning content). Pages loaded this way are subject to the privacy policy of the site being displayed, not this one — we recommend reviewing those separately if you’re unsure.
Payments. bLMs itself does not process payments or store payment card information. Course or subscription purchases are handled separately through our accounts department; the app only reflects access that’s already been granted to your account.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account, and let you sign in
- To provide access to the courses and content associated with your account
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app (via aggregate, anonymised-where-possible usage analytics)
- To respond to support requests
- To meet legal obligations where applicable
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
Who we share data with
We share limited data with the service providers that help us run the app, currently:
- Google Firebase (authentication and analytics infrastructure) — Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google’s data processing terms; it is not used by Google for advertising purposes tied to your bLMs use.
We do not share your personal data with any other third party except where required by law, or with your consent.
Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal data within "30 days", except where we’re required to retain limited records for legal, security, or accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting support@blms.app. If you’re in South Africa, these rights are provided under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA); users elsewhere may have equivalent rights under their local data protection law, which we honor on the same basis.
To request account deletion, email support@blms.app from your registered address.
Children’s privacy
bLMs is currently intended for adult learners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@blms.app and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage on your device and encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) between the app and our services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
